This is how you experience Rheinhessen
On 4 and 5 July 2026, more than 50 wineries from Maxime Herkunft Rheinhessen will open their estates in Ingelheim. No exhibition halls, no standing tables, no crowds. Instead: real winemakers, their wines at the place where they are made – and a shuttle bus that takes you comfortably from one stop to the next.
What to expect
Maxime Open is not a conventional wine fair. It is closer to a wine walk – with winery courtyards instead of stands, and conversations instead of sales pitches.
Start whenever you like. Choose your own route. And between the estates, the shuttle bus keeps things easy and relaxed. A short walk here and there is part of the experience – and exactly what gives the event its laid-back, almost village-like atmosphere.
At each stop, the winemakers pour their wines personally. You can ask, taste and discuss. Over 300 wines will be available across the weekend – from vibrant whites and elegant Burgundian varieties to lively sparkling wines.
Your ticket includes tastings at all participating estates and access to the shuttle service.
These wineries will welcome you in Ingelheim:

One of the shuttle stops is located directly at Ingelheim train station, making it easy to arrive by train and avoid using a car altogether.
Shuttle buses run between the wineries on a hop-on, hop-off basis: simply get on.
and off as you please. On Saturday, buses run from 11 am to 6 pm, and on Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm, departing every 30 to 40 minutes from each stop. If you prefer, you can also walk parts of the route.
The shuttle service is included in your ticket.
Shuttle stops are marked with an “H”.

Maxime Open Party
Saturday from 6 pm If you do not want the day to simply wind down, celebrate it with us.
From 6 pm, the Maxime Open Party takes place at Weingut J. Neus. Expect a DJ and a wine bar. This is not a sundowner, but a proper party in one of Ingelheim’s most beautiful courtyards.
The DJ will play a mix of house, urban and Latin, ranging from current tracks to classics from the 90s. Food will be available. The party ends at 11 pm. Party tickets are sold separately and are not included in the day ticket.
Capacity is limited, so early booking is recommended.
Sunday: starting the day with sparkling wine
For Sunday morning, we have planned something special. Start the day in a relaxed way with a glass of sparkling wine and explore a selection of sparkling and semi-sparkling wines from our winemakers. A perfect introduction to the second day. Sparkling wines are included in the ticket price. Maxime Open 2026 takes place on 4 and 5 July in Ingelheim. Come by, take your time and experience Rheinhessen in the way it is best understood: directly with the people who make the wines. We look forward to welcoming you.
